Paul's Boots

This piece was a special present for M'Lynn in Australia. She sent a letter to my friends at the Dirtbag Diaries telling the story of her late husband Paul, his love and compassion for the outdoors and his dream of walking the Appalachian Trail.  She asked if the Dirtbag Diaries might know anyone willing to take Paul's size 13 boots down the trail and requested only a few photos of the journey in return.

What M'Lynn got was far more than photos.
The Dirt Bag Diaries, REI, and volunteers took three pairs of Paul's Boots down the AT and created a beautiful production out of the journey. This painting was made for M'Lynn as a thank you for being the catalyst and inspiration for such an adventure.

To hear more about M'Lynn's story and Paul's Protectors, please visit the The Dirtbag Diaries / Duct Tape Then Beer.

Prints will be available by mid October on my Etsy page and 20% of all sales will go to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy so Paul and his dream can continue to contribute to everyone on the AT and beyond.
